A discussion came up about the National Aids Memorial Grove in reference to its 25th Anniversary and the idea formed that it would be cool to create a labyrinth for the celebration.
We scoped out space in the grove to see if this was feasible and decided to a three circuit labyrinth would be ideal on the space provided.
Little known to many people the design of the memorial was created out of circles and broken circles which denote death. The labyrinth design is also a set of broken circles of various radii. Yet the energies of this space beckoned more to be done in this place of memories and beauty. The labyrinth then morphed turning the center into a heart in celebration of life. One enters and walks the labyrinth and finishes by stepping onto the heart.
The path delineators are to be made of the colors of green and yellow; Green denotes balance and growth to the psyche while yellow denotes will. These delineators are sixteen inches wide so that alters and various items can be placed telling your story about your experience with HIV/AIDS today.
Empty HIV pill bottles will be provided for visitors to insert messages about how they experience HIV/AIDS today; from Long Term AIDS Survivors kicking ass to those who are not and from people on hte PrEP medication Truvada, along with negative folks who are still affected by HIV/AIDS today in some way. These messages will added to an online interactive labyrinth.
